Apollo 11: Celebrating 50 year anniversary of the moon landing

When: May 9, 10, 11 (See below for events)

Where: Lebanon Public Library, 101 S. Broadway

NASA Glenn Research Center’s Journey to Tomorrow exhibit will immerse visitors in a fun-filled interactive experience, which includes learning stations and engaging activities. Guests will be challenged to think about how aircraft fly and what it’s like to live and work in space. Current NASA missions are on display, such as advanced aeronautics research and NASA’s efforts to send future human explorers to the moon, to Mars, and beyond. The exhibit features a genuine moon rock, collected by the crew of Apollo 17. The exhibit is housed in an air conditioned 53-foot trailer and is wheelchair accessible; it will be on-site in the Library parking lot from 9a to 5p all three days.

NASA is also providing exciting STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) activities, geared for middle to junior high students and available all three days.

Additionally, the International Women’s Air and Space Museum’s exhibit, 100 Ohio Women in Air and Space, will be set up in the Library all three days.

Four-time Shuttle astronaut, Dr. Don Thomas, will visit to speak about his career and travels in space. Tickets for the 5pm talk will be available through Eventbrite.

Admission to events and exhibits is FREE. There is no ticketing for the NASA exhibit; admission is on a first come, first served basis. Events will take place in the Library’s parking lot, pavilion, and in the adjacent Harmon Museum and Conference Center.
